2026 upcoming PROGRAMS
KAMPO INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This program is a post-graduate internship in the theory and practice of Kampo medicine, the system of traditional Herbal Medicine (utilising Chinese Herbs) practised in Japan. This system offers practitioners familiar with the basics of TCM, Chinese Medicine and other East- Asian theoretical models the opportunity to learn a direct, hands-on, clinical approach to the practice of Herbal prescribing.
The complete training consists of 8 Modules with 3 days training per module, totalling 24 days, and 200 hours over 2 years. The Friday/Saturday of each module consists of classroom didactic study as well as hands-on practice related to the Fukushin abdominal exam. The Sunday is devoted to the Training Clinic which is run in grand-rounds style with full patient work-up, assessment and prescription as well as detailed case analysis and discussion.
Graduates receive a certificate of completion from the NY Kampo Institute and are then invited to join the ongoing Kampo Study Group for continuing education. Graduates are also invited to audit any NYKI course of program for 50% tuition reduction.
