This workshop takes an in-depth look at Patient Constitution (Taishitsu Sho) as a fundamental component of Kampo diagnosis and treatment, exploring how constitutional tendencies shape a person’s health, disease patterns, prognosis, and response to treatment. Participants will learn to recognize constitutional types—including Qi, Blood and Fluid tendencies, hot/cold and wet/dry patterns, digestive weakness, counterflow, and emotional reactivity—through tactile abdominal and visual assessment, and apply this understanding to more precise clinical decision-making and formula selection. Know your patient. Know their constitution.
